about
AySay was for a period in long distance relationship. Luna traveled in South America, and to keep the wheel turning, the trio decided to test songwriting with 1 specific challenge - physical distance. ”glød” (glow) was born in these conditions with Luna recording and writing in Chile, while Aske and Carl was in Denmark recording back to Luna.
Very symbolically, and perhaps also therefore, the song is about the feeling of being torn when traveling. The place between wanting the experience and travel to continue, but at the same time feel that there is something that draws you "home" – although when traveling, "home" can often feel like something that is no longer as concrete to you. The text, Luna wrote with inspiration from Latin American poetry, whose traditional music often has referrences to the moon, the sun, the light, the wind. Elements you turn to for clarity, to feel one with something greater, which is not defined from where you are physically present on Earth, but exists everywhere.
AySay's sources of inspiration come from both the East and the West. Sorten Muld's concept of creating Nordic hybrids continues in AySay in what nowadays also belong to being "Nordic." This makes sense since the percussionist in AySay, Aske, is the son of two members of Soren Muld. AySay's sound also draws inspiration from the Canadian / Turkish band "Minor Empire," which also blends electronic elements with oriental tunes.
